It's Bee Day again!

They are swarming a month later than in the past, but they are noisier than ever.

 

They are all massing around a hole in the old maple.

One of David's newly planted espaliered apple trees has blossoms!  The tree has six kinds of apples on it and the Macintosh and the yellow transparent have put out buds.

Tigers!

Here are some tiger pictures David took at Point Defiance Zoo last week.  The solitary tiger is 3 years old.  He was the subject of the daily tiger talk, which means nice hunks of beef.  The other pictures are of the 6 month old cubs playing a game of I'm Going to Rip Your Tail Off.  Be sure to click on the pictures to see them close up.

Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge


Yesterday David and I walked all the way to the end of the boardwalk at the Nisqually nature reserve, all except for the last 700 feet, which is closed due to hunting season.  Here are some of my pictures:
